Enable Gmail logs BigQuery export (lab-tested checklist)

Admin steps to turn on Gmail log export to BigQuery, validate the schema, and run a bounded incident query.

This checklist matches the punchop-lab Enterprise tenant procedure. Replay on your tenant before treating steps as verified.

Enable export

  1. Admin console → Reporting → BigQuery export.
  2. Link a GCP project in EU (recommended for GDPR-aligned tenants).
  3. Confirm daily gmail_logs_YYYYMMDD tables appear within 24–48h (record your measured lag).

Validate schema

Use the lab tool against your project:

go run ./cmd/lab-export-schema/ -project YOUR_PROJECT -dataset gmail_logs_export

Align SQL views with nested fields (event_info, message_info).
